Mixed media, stained glass collage and paint on aluminum.

31x36"

Bring on the Night is a piece that explores the shifting nature of perception—how things emerge and disappear in darkness, how emotion and memory shape what we see. I was drawn to the idea of night not just as time, but as a state of mind: quieter, more uncertain, yet full of intensity.
The work’s irregular shape was intentional. I wanted it to feel like something broken off from a larger whole, or something still forming—edging into view. Using stained glass and paint collage on aluminum allowed me to layer texture, light, and reflection in unexpected ways. The aluminum holds the structure, while the glass fragments shimmer and catch light differently depending on where you stand. It’s a surface that changes with you.
The forms within the piece suggest eyes, faces, windows—none of them complete. They drift in and out of legibility, like memories or glances in the dark. That ambiguity speaks to how we often experience others at night: partially, impressionistically, and sometimes more truthfully than in full daylight.
Bring on the Night is not meant to be read at once. It asks for slow looking—for a willingness to feel your way through. Like the night itself, it holds things you may not expect.

Ready to hang.
