Bridget Melody
Bridget Melody is a contemporary artist and indie folk singer/songwriter based out of Toronto, ON.
Coming from a mixed heritage of French Canadian, Mi'kmaq and Italian roots, an integral part of Bridget’s artistry comes from her deep connection to land and spirit as she draws creativity from the poetic mysteries of life. The traces of this inspiration are evident in her paintings through her use of palette, gesture and style.
Bridget is represented by the Art Gallery of Hamilton where her most recent works are available to view and purchase. Bridget has exhibited her paintings at community art events and festivals throughout Ontario including the Skylight Gallery in Toronto and the Woodland Cultural Centre in Brantford.

As a multi-faceted artist, I thrive on flow and spontaneity in every form of expression, always striving to honor the creative process without judgement and to soar a little higher each time.
I like to draw energy and ideas from the creative interplay between music and art, to create corresponding paintings and songs that engage the imagination and elevate the spirit.
I work primarily with acrylic paints, gels and textured mediums to capture a visceral and dimensional feel to landscape, portraits and still life images.

My vision for this painting was to illustrate the division of earth and sky with all the existing layers in between as a reflection of the human composition of body, soul and spirit. The earth being symbolic of our mortal physical form, the sky symbolic of our higher, spiritual being and our soul (mind, will and emotions) abiding in the space in between.
This painting was inspired by a song I wrote entitled, The Space in Between, which is featured on my debut album Spirit Dance
(released on March 11, 2021).
