As a second-generation artist, she was immersed in the world of art from a young age and was mentored by her father, an accomplished artist with whom she shared a studio for over a decade.\r\u003cbr\u003eLisa has exhibited primarily throughout the Pacific Northwest, and her work is held in both private and corporate collections across the United States and internationally.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch4\u003eARTIST’S STATEMENT\u003c\/h4\u003e\u003cp\u003eI create large, mixed-media abstract paintings by pouring, directing, and manipulating multiple layers of fluid acrylics, gels, paper, fabric, and other materials onto canvas. My work explores the dynamic interplay of color, texture, depth, and transparency, inviting viewers to get lost in the intricate details that emerge.\r\u003cbr\u003eEach piece begins with a carefully considered composition and palette. My process is intentional and methodical—I lay multiple canvases on the floor and pour from above, guiding the flow of paint by tilting the surfaces and using wedges to control its movement. Layer by layer, the surface evolves, requiring both patience and precision.\r\u003cbr\u003eThe drying process, however, introduces an element of unpredictability. While waiting for layers to set can be the most challenging part, I’m often tempted to intervene, disrupting the paint mid-dry. These moments of spontaneity can transform the piece, creating unexpected textures and forms. It’s this delicate balance between control and chaos that keeps me searching—for that one moment when the surface becomes something truly
