She’s always been a fan of Ansel Adams and Bob Ross’ style, even though Bob was a painter, and loved watching his programs on the local PBS.  This drove her out and be with nature. This collection I call “Spirit of the land” is my infrared black and white photography.   They illustrate an alternate world, almost a dreamlike state that feels three-dimensional.  You will have a new appreciation to Nature’s murals with different perspectives that you may not have noticed before.  \u003cbr\u003eMy bond with Mother Nature started out when I was a child, from my parents’ love of travel via RV.  We believed that the road trip was a part of the journey that you can’t get from a plane. The side windows were my TV screen, and I would sit and watch the landscape go by.  No re-runs to watch, just magical views to ignite my child’s imagination insisting that my mind wander. I first thought this sign needed to heed its own warning, but more profound thoughts went to Covid and civil unrest while living in Minnesota; how as a society we are failing one another.  Simple gestures of kindness towards others seemed something of the past being replaced with a “me” civilization with extreme views laced with violence instead of using words and basic respect for one another, knowing that we can agree to disagree and still live in peace. On this road trip, I headed to South Central Minnesota to Sleepy Eye where they have the nicest owners of Sleepy Eye stain glass shop.  The drive takes a few hours to get there and enjoy taking the single-lane county highways.  I was blessed with Bob Ross kind of clouds, Horses greeting me to say good morning, and freshly planted crops that will soon cover the black soil.  The landscape is dotted with farmhouses, gently rolling hills, small creeks with forest groves.  Driving back home the clouds parted ways showing contrast with the black soil with freshly planted crops.
