Her large-scale acrylic paintings explore the relationship between movement, color and structure, balancing spontaneous gestures with deliberate composition.\r
\r
Ball’s professional background spans the performing arts and corporate leadership. Trained as a classical vocalist, she earned degrees in Vocal Performance from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the University of Southern California, later teaching voice at the college level. She subsequently built a career in Silicon Valley, holding senior leadership roles in talent acquisition within the technology industry.\r
\r
Today, her work as a visual artist draws on a lifelong engagement with creativity, discipline, and exploration.. Working across several distinct but interconnected series, Ball creates richly layered paintings that invite viewers to discover their own interpretations. Her work is held in private collections in the United States and internationally.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

I create abstract paintings that explore the tension between freedom and confinement.\r
\r
My process begins with movement, intuition and an openness to the unexpected. Through layers of acrylic paint, sweeping gestures, scraped surfaces and deliberate interventions, I allow each composition to develop through a continuing exchange between spontaneity and control.\r
\r
Across my work, color, texture and form take on different roles. Some paintings are expansive and energetic; others are quieter, more structured and restrained. What connects them is an interest in what happens when freedom encounters boundaries, and how those boundaries can become part of the expression itself.\r
\r
I believe abstract art leaves room for interpretation beyond the artist’s intentions. What I see in a painting may be entirely different from what someone else discovers in it, and that possibility is part of what makes abstraction so compelling to me.

Acrylic on canvas.

49x37x2"

“Nacre III: Counterpoint” explores the visual relationship between independent geometric forms, using contrast, placement and subtle variations in luminosity to create a sense of dialogue across the canvas.
