ARTIST’S STATEMENT
In my exploration of "Beauty in Destruction," I delve into the paradoxical relationship between creation and destruction, recognizing their intertwined nature in the tapestry of existence. Through my creative process, I try to unravel the transformative power of destruction and hardship, revealing its generative ability crucial for change, growth, and renewal. Inspired by the experience of displacement due to migration, I delve into the universal truth that adversity serves as a catalyst for growth, applying this insight to every facet of life.
Using ceramic dishes as my chosen medium, I break them into pieces, employing the shattered fragments as reference points for my paintings.
The shattered fragments of ceramics symbolize the vulnerability and susceptibility to fracture inherent in the human condition. They become a tangible representation of life’s trials, illustrating the inevitable hardship that individuals encounter. Yet, within this destruction lies a profound beauty—a reminder that even in moments of devastation, there exists a potential for renewal and regeneration.
