Catriona Forsyth
Catriona (ka-tree-ah-nah) has loved painting and drawing since childhood.
She has a degree in Fine Arts & Art History from the University of Waterloo. Following graduation, Catriona exhibited in a variety of solo and juried shows in the GTA, Oakville, Cambridge, Hamilton.
She has worked for many years as a graphic designer/creative director and then in project management and digital strategy while raising 2 smart, successful daughters.
When not making art, Catriona volunteers in her community at an animal shelter and with a local conservation association. Some of her other favourite pastimes include gardening, cycling, and reading.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
I love working on large canvases and enjoy the colour and diversity of flowers. My paintings start as sketches using my own reference photos – often taken in my gardens or when travelling locally and abroad. It doesn’t take long for a piece to become more about colour, composition, texture and brushstrokes. Taking pictures, making sketches and painting makes me happy and I hope that my artwork makes you smile and feel a little joy for nature.
