Lucy Cook is a one-of-a-kind artist, with a passion for bright colors. She graduated from the MacEwan Fine Arts program but has realized her passion for painting from a young age. Taking classes from artists such as Eileen Rucher-Sutton since her teens, Lucy has progressed in her art career; sharing her passions through teaching painting, and showing off her artwork at local music venues, shops, and markets.

Lucy uses her love of color to express the love she has for her home landscape: Alberta, Canada. From the Rockies and the forests to its lakes and rivers to the sunsets and sunrises, her paintings emanate bright colors that are rich with saturation, and joy for life. It's as if her striking use of color and her devoted passion for creating are what make her paintings so vibrant.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

I love to paint.
I love the textures, I love the colors, and I love the process. It's as if I have had a compulsion to paint my whole life. Whether I was bored, excited, tired, or inspired, I used my art as a tool to digest life. from a young age, I was always grabbing for the brush, or the pencil and trying to emulate the beauty before me. Feeling into the process, I noticed so much stillness and peace. there's a flow to creation that I just couldn't get enough of. It allows me to mentally digest and meditate on the beauty that life has to give, filling my art with great color, almost emanating a thankfulness and a celebration of Mother nature.
