Originally from New Delhi, India, she brings a rich cultural and spiritual depth to her work, exploring themes of self-reflection, emotional resilience, and the complexities of human experience.\r\u003cbr\u003eDas earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Delhi University and a Master of Fine Arts from Arizona State University, where her creative journey evolved to include sculptural forms alongside her foundation in drawing. Since moving from India to the United States in 2011, her practice has deepened around questions of identity, transformation, and the interplay between spirituality and materiality in art.\r\u003cbr\u003eOver the past two decades, Das has exhibited extensively across the U.S. and internationally, including in San Francisco, Arizona, New York, London, Beijing, and New Delhi. Her works have been featured in museums, universities, and artist-run spaces. In August 2024, she presented her fifth solo exhibition at Eye Lounge, a leading contemporary artist collective in Phoenix, Arizona, where she was a member artist—affirming her growing presence in the contemporary art landscape.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch4\u003eARTIST’S STATEMENT\u003c\/h4\u003e\u003cp\u003eMy artistic practice is a journey of self-exploration and spiritual contemplation, bridging charcoal drawing and ceramic sculpture to examine the interplay between internal darkness and light. Rooted in Buddhist philosophies of mindfulness and impermanence, my work maps a lifecycle of vulnerability and emotional resilience. This dialogue begins with monochrome drawings on papers, where thin, energetic lines capture the simultaneous chaos of our internal worlds. This exploration eventually evolved into three-dimensional ceramic sculpture—a transition that successfully liberated abstract, coiling lines from the two-dimensional page into permanent structures with weight, volume, and substance. My practice is a physical translation: the interwoven movements previously captured in charcoal now manifest as organic ceramic forms. Each sculpture is a meticulously hand-built assembly of coiled tubes, strings, and cords—tentacle-like elements that have blossomed into vibrant, alive structures. The rhythmic act of molding, pinching, and weaving clay functions as a deeply meditative ritual of physical transmutation. As I work the earth, I engage in a therapeutic process where negative energy is actively reshaped into resilient structures of latent potential.
