Sometimes a particular quality of light can return me to another time before I’ve even consciously understood what I’m remembering.\r\u003cbr\u003e\r\u003cbr\u003eLight Leaks reminds me of the photographs I made as a child, when film was imperfect and unpredictable and I didn’t really know what I was doing. Light would find its way onto the film and leave behind these strange washes of colour, something unintended becoming permanently embedded in the image.\r\u003cbr\u003e\r\u003cbr\u003eThere is something about that process that feels remarkably similar to the way memory works. The past doesn’t always return as a complete story. Sometimes it arrives as a colour, a feeling, a fragment of another place or time bleeding unexpectedly into the present.\r\u003cbr\u003e\r\u003cbr\u003eA light leak is an overlap. Two moments occupying the same space.
