I've had Crohn's disease since i was a kid. for the past 2 years before that it had gotten so bad where i actually couldn't even physically walk anymore and had lost so much weight that i became a shell of myself physically and mentally. in June i had a ileostomy surgery and vowed to myself that i would not waste anymore of my time when it came to plans and creating things for myself. i wanted to start creating series based around suffering and human cost as its something everyone deals with on a daily bases. my personal philosophies involve the thought that suffering is apart of the human experience for better or for worse. for example, going to the gym you suffer physically for the cost of getting better. this is piece 6 of the series. i wanted to make this the smallest piece of the series because of how little everything. devastation, desolation, and erosion. that's what i was exploring with the final piece. with the canvas i chose being so small to show how little the lives affected seemed to mean to those in charge and made orders. the cost being so big the canvas being so small. the only thing being left was devastation. the landscapes that once flourished with life and color left desolate. and what once was a society now eroded.
