A narrow green shelf sits between monumental rock walls, beneath a sliver of blue sky. From that constrained space rises a single upright tree, calm, vertical, unwavering.\r\u003cbr\u003e\r\u003cbr\u003eWith my trusted knife, the mountains were created to give geological weight and texture. And with brushwork, the shelf developed through layered glazing to introduce atmosphere and depth. The contrast between the knife and the brush mirrors the tension in the composition, mass against growth, compression against ascent.\r\u003cbr\u003e\r\u003cbr\u003eThe tree aligns directly beneath the opening of the sky, forming a quiet axis through the painting. This work reflects my ongoing exploration of landscape as a metaphor for identity, endurance, and inner alignment.\r\u003cbr\u003e\r\u003cbr\u003eThis is selfhood: the irreducible self that persists. Not ego, but essence.\r\u003cbr\u003e\r\u003cbr\u003e\r\u003cbr\u003eEn Harmonie avec ce qui Subsiste\r\u003cbr\u003eCette œuvre s'inspire d'une photo prise lors de notre voyage à bord du Rocky Mountaineer à travers les Rocheuses canadiennes.\r\u003cbr\u003eIl ne s'agit pas seulement d'un paysage.\r\u003cbr\u003e\r\u003cbr\u003eMon travail explore aujourd'hui ce qui perdure lorsque la pression se fait sentir. Une étroite corniche verdoyante s'étend entre des parois rocheuses monumentales, sous un coin de ciel bleu. De cet espace confiné s'élève un seul arbre, calme, vertical, inébranlable.\r\u003cbr\u003e\r\u003cbr\u003eÀ l'aide de mon fidèle couteau, j'ai créé les montagnes afin de leur donner un poids et une texture géologiques. Puis, à l'aide de pinceaux, j'ai développé la corniche à travers des couches de glacis afin d'introduire de l'atmosphère et de la profondeur. Le contraste entre le couteau et le pinceau reflète la tension dans la composition, la masse contre la croissance, la compression contre l'ascension.\r\u003cbr\u003e\r\u003cbr\u003eL'arbre s'aligne directement sous l'ouverture du ciel, formant un axe tranquille à travers le tableau. Cette œuvre reflète mon exploration continue du paysage en tant que métaphore de l'identité, de l'endurance et de l'alignement intérieur.\r\u003cbr\u003e\r\u003cbr\u003eC'est l'individualité : le moi irréductible qui persiste.
