My piece Ice and Fire is an abstract poured horizontal original painting made entirely with light blue and dark orange complimentary colors. The energy in the piece contradicts each other just as Fire and Ice does. Turquoise, red and white create bold harmony across the canvas. To me is looks as though the heat is fighting to melt the ice in a battle with the right primarily hot and the left cool. This large abstract pour was created in two layers; the first was the light blue and white colors were done as the background and the warm colors were poured after.
The dark stained frame really accentuates the strong canvas' bright colors by making it stand out in stark difference from a neutral wall tone.
