Its rings hold the memory of time passing, while smaller circles seem to echo outward into both spaces. I imagine the tree as a quiet meeting place between night and day, stillness and movement, the world we know and the one just beyond it.\r\u003cbr\u003e\r\u003cbr\u003eProcess\r\u003cbr\u003eI created two contrasting fields of colour on either side of a central tree trunk: deep navy with sparkling points of light, and vivid blue with softer, cloudlike marks. Warm browns and ochres give the trunk weight and presence. I added the circular ring patterns along the trunk and repeated them in the surrounding space, linking the two sides of the composition.
