I let the colours lead the the way with this piece. “Treasures on the beach” named after the fun of finding beach glass on a long walk.
Toronto based artist Amy Fitzgerald works in acrylic. She studied at The School of Environmental and Interior Design, UCLA. After years of working in the retail sector, she rekindled her passion for creating art in 2019. Her work has been sold through out Canada and the US.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
As an emerging artist, I love creating abstract modern paintings that reflect my dreams, memories and interpretations of the world around me. Working primarily in acrylic, I lay down multiple layers of colour, texture and marks that allow for a richness and depth. Much of my mark making is made using found objects, both natural and human made. The layers and marks leave the viewer with something new to discover each time they look at my paintings. My hope is that my work inspires others to stop and look a little closer at both the painting and the world around them.
