The heart of Metropolis was housed in a white, marble encased, cathedral-like tower. The multi-core quantum processor of the machine-city was a universe unto itself. Above the deep mysteries of its delicate nano-code structure, like the spinning disc of a neutron star, halo of a divine being, stood the pulsating cobalt-blue quantum-wheel. The giant laser-like spokes appeared, in the whirl of revolution, as a single gleaming blue sapphire-like orb. No machine in all Metropolis could exist without power from this blue radioactive heart.
