Aisha Ali is a visual artist and writer with an intuitive multidisciplinary practice spanning acrylic painting, drawing, film, poetry, and prose. Her work explores the formation of identity and the intersecting influences of colonization, culture, trauma, and faith, asking: who are we beyond the roles we were forced to play to survive? She lives in Treaty 6 territory (Edmonton) with her nonspeaking autistic son, and her dog-like cat, Theo.
