ARTIST’S STATEMENT
The fantastic linear puzzles which I am creating on paper always based on real trees. In my art I am using a technique of pen and ink - it’s my favorite classical technique of Old Masters.
During meditation watching the trees, nature as it were interacts with my subconscious. The philosophical symbolism of mine early art works in the mid-nineties was replaced by the period of ironic feminism. The drawings have become more figurative and the compositions multi-detailed.
Emerging themes usually reflect a particular situation from the “ World of Women” - political, sensual, or everyday household theme that seem ironic to me as if I laughed at moments from my own life.
Often my works are the size of the original particular tree. To a complete a single drawing it takes 1-2 months of a daily work an open air.
