Antonio Roliz – Visual Artist | San Francisco
Art has always been a part of my essence—a quiet force guiding my creativity from an early age. Whether it was rearranging furniture as a child, decorating cakes, or transforming faces through makeup, I have always found ways to bring beauty and expression to the world around me. Today, painting has become my most profound form of artistic exploration.
Born in San Francisco, the city where my parents first met, my journey as a visual artist began unexpectedly in November 2022. A chance encounter with an abstract artist—who split their time between Florida and San Francisco—led me to their studio in the Outer Mission. There, surrounded by vibrant canvases and creative energy, I was inspired to pick up a brush for the first time. That single moment ignited a passion that has since taken me across the country.
My first painting, along with several others, found their way to the streets of New York, where I spent six transformative weeks in May 2023 showcasing and selling my work in SoHo and near the High Line by the Whitney Museum. One pivotal encounter with a young collector, who purchased my piece Bed of Flowers, inspired me to delve deeper into the abstract floral world.
This artistic exploration evolved into my latest series, Transportal Landscapes, which I began painting in January 2024. Through layers of acrylic on stretched canvas, I explore the idea of paradise—what it looks like, how it feels, and how it shifts between reality and imagination. Each piece is a window into a dreamlike world, inviting the viewer to step into their own version of serenity.
As a new artist, I embrace the unknown, allowing each brushstroke to guide me toward new discoveries. My work is not just about painting—it’s about transformation, connection, and the endless pursuit of artistic expression
