Bill Lunshof
Newmarket based fine artist Bill Lunshof grew up in a Dutch immigrant family and had an interest in the visual arts from an early age. Also an avid gardener and photographer, Bill’s work takes much of its inspiration from nature. He has been painting for the last 12 years. He is a member of two local art groups – Newmarket Group of Artists and Society of York Region Artists.
Bill paints in water soluble oils. He likes to portray rural Ontario and often includes old barns, houses and buildings in his work. He is fascinated by how light affects the landscape and tries to capture that in his work. He also enjoys painting en Plein Air and can be found with his easel set up in and around his home town of Newmarket when the weather allows.

Third in a set of four winter nocturnes. My wife and I often remark when we see a strange skyscape that if I painted it no one would believe I wasn't making it up. So this time I just said I didn't care what anyone thinks - I'm just going to paint it!

The second in a series of 10 x 10 Winter nocturnes. This is my favourite palette to paint in - I painted four of these at the same time to make a series with colour harmony.
