Brian Normandeau

Brian Normandeau, known professionally as BriN., is a self-taught contemporary artist based in London, Ontario, Canada.

After a 35-year career in hospitality, Brian began painting in 2015. What started as a personal exploration developed into a dedicated artistic practice centred on colour, texture, movement, and emotional connection.

His work ranges from structured and expressive compositions to quieter, more reflective pieces. This diversity led to the development of CubiFusion, his creative framework shaped by Intentional Fluidity. This philosophy allows each painting to evolve according to the needs of the subject, idea, and creative process.

Rather than being defined by a single visual style, BriN.’s work is united by a consistent intention: to create paintings that leave room for viewers to form their own emotional connection and interpretation.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

My approach to painting begins with possibility rather than a predetermined outcome.

I work through Intentional Fluidity, remaining open to changes in colour, structure, movement, texture, and emotion as a painting develops. Some works call for strong geometry and defined structure; others need simplicity, atmosphere, spontaneity, or restraint.

This philosophy led me to develop CubiFusion, a creative framework with six distinct branches that offer different ways to explore an idea while remaining connected to one artistic vision.

Inspiration often comes from people, places, memories, nature, music, and everyday moments. While each painting may begin with something personal, I don't believe my interpretation should determine what someone else sees.

For me, the connection between the painting and the viewer is where the work ultimately finds its own meaning.
