The surf reaches toward you as you imagine that you are in fact standing at the Water's Edge. Modeling paste and cheesecloth are sculpted to form the ripples of frothy surf and gauzy clouds. Pouring medium is layered in ripples and creates a translucent glow as the setting sun peeks through the clouds to dance on the water.

Rolling In is part of my Water's Edge series that aims to convey my awe at the dynamism and calming power of being near the water. This painting depicts the eerie calm right before the storm rolls in. It has my signature textured clouds surrounded by a reflective and translucent sky achieved by my use of pouring medium and modelling paste.
