Dana Mooney

Dana Mooney is an abstract, expressive painter. Her work ranges from fine art paintings, to murals, custom work and brand collaborations.

Dana's goal with her artwork is to create something beautiful and personal, combining elements of fine art and interior design to create a place for one to pause, escape and dream a little. She has participated in public art projects, and collaborated on many pieces
and products for brands and individuals.

Dana’s work is often commissioned by homeowners, interior designers, and brands including Jergens Body Lotion, Saje Natural Wellness, Curated Walls Wallpaper, Princeton Brushes, Moxie's Restaurants, Endeavour Neon and more. When Dana is not commissioning a beautiful custom piece for a client or precariously positioned on a ladder painting a mural, you can find her in and around Vancouver and Port Moody with her husband Jeremy, her talkative 5 year old son Evan and Cocanut, a pugalier with a terrible underbite.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Dana Mooney is a Vancouver-based artist whose practice is rooted in an ongoing exploration of self-expression through painting. A deeply creative soul, she has always been drawn to making, exploring, and finding meaning through visual language. Painting has become both an anchor and an outlet; a place where she can slow down, reflect, and step outside the noise of everyday life.

Working across both fine art and larger-scale pieces, Dana’s work is guided by an intuitive approach to colour, composition, and movement. Her paintings often draw subtle influence from the West Coast landscape, while remaining grounded in emotion and abstraction. Each piece becomes an exploration of mood and memory, where layered colours and forms invite a sense of calm and openness, married with joyful outbursts.

For Dana, the act of painting is as important as the finished work. It offers a moment of pause, an escape, and a way to reconnect. This intention carries through to her audience. She hopes her work creates space for others to step away from their routines, even briefly - to breathe, to feel, and to find stillness within themselves.

At its core, her practice is about connection: to place, to self, and to the shared human need for moments of rest and reflection.
