Darlene Forst

Darlene Forst is a Canadian contemporary artist.

She invites you to experience a variety of emotions as you interplay with the artworks. Her use of vibrant colours to explore the dynamism of asymmetry originated with her exposure to the culture and colours of rural Mexico as a young child.

Forst is originally from Saskatchewan, Canada where she began drawing and painting in high school. She received her B. Sc. in Physics from the University of Saskatchewan. She now lives and maintains her art practice in Vancouver, BC.

Forst is an Exhibiting Member of the Canadian Federation of Artists. Her work can be found in corporate and private collections across Canada and the United States.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Each painting is a dance of pigment on canvas: a spectacle, a performance.
But what I create is only half of it. You bring your experiences, emotions, and state of mind to the artwork and your reaction completes it. It is an active connection between us. My goal is to draw you into an experience. No two viewings of a work are the same.
The dance is constantly alive.
