Dazi is a painter and illustrator originally from China, now based in Montreal, Canada. With a background in graphic design, illustration, and fine art, her work blends whimsical, childlike imagery with emotionally resonant storytelling. Drawing from personal memories, dreams, and quiet introspection, she creates symbolic worlds that explore vulnerability, longing, and healing.

Her paintings have been exhibited internationally, and in 2025 she published her first artist book, Rainbowtopia, with Shandong Fine Arts Publishing House.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Through soft color palettes, simplified forms, and poetic symbolism, I explore emotional landscapes from a childlike perspective. Recurring elements such as animals, houses, and surreal dreamscapes serve as metaphors for inner states like fragility, nostalgia, and transformation.

I believe that sincerity and playfulness are powerful creative forces. Like a child’s drawing—unfiltered and instinctive—my work aims to offer moments of quiet reflection and emotional recognition. I hope to invite viewers into tender, dreamlike spaces where forgotten parts of themselves might gently resurface.
