Debra Wronzberg is an award-winning Thornhill artist whose work combines semi-abstract painting with mosaic techniques. Developed during the COVID-19 lockdown, her distinctive style begins with compositions mapped out in painter’s tape, and the final “reveal” occurs when the tape is removed, uncovering intricate mosaic details. Inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi—the repair of broken pottery with liquid gold—her work reflects the idea that what is broken can be restored and strengthened, a sentiment deeply personal to her. Debra approaches art as a journey of transformation, echoing the struggles and triumphs of nature, and continually experiments with rendering trees, flowers, and buildings in her technique. She has participated in juried shows including the Toronto Outdoor Art Show, a solo exhibition at Latcham Gallery, the McMichael Gallery Volunteer Art Show, and Artist Network Art Shows. Debra is represented by The Riverdale Artists Hub.
