Denis Li is a Vancouver-based visual artist, photographer and designer.
His multidisciplinary background spans photography, fashion and visual culture. He studied at London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, and holds an MA in Fashion Design from Istituto Marangoni Milano.
His photographic practice focuses on architecture, urban environments and nature, with a particular interest in atmosphere, composition and the passage of time.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

My photography is rooted in an awareness of time and the uniqueness of each passing moment.
I am drawn to atmosphere, place and the quiet dialogue between architecture and nature, permanence and change.
What matters most to me is capturing a moment as it exists here and now — a moment that will never return in exactly the same way. Photography allows me to preserve something from the continuous flow of time: a particular light, mood, place or fleeting state of the world. I find beauty both in the moment itself and in the knowledge that it is temporary.
