Diego Molina

I am photographer in love with my hometown of Burnaby, BC. I am a 32 year old Canadian born from a Salvadorian refugee, I served 12 years in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves in New Westminster, and I was employed for 10 years as sheet metal fabricator.

I find peace in photography, it contrasts my previous life experience while complimenting it, and it provides me an avenue to create while being gentle to my body and soul. Photography pairs wonderfully with the active lifestyle that's necessary to care for myself and my dog, Juno, a 3 year old Aussie/Heeler dog.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

I share the beauty and magnificense of my neighborhood, the surrounding parks, and the nearby conservation areas. I moderately adhere to a concept I call "walking the dog," where I reach a majority of my locations on foot from my front door with Juno by my side. With up to 350km walked a month, it's an exercise in persistence and a demonstration of resilience against my service related injuries.

I aim to share the peace that I experience on these walks, and I try to catch every candid moment as I pass by.
