ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Her personal artistic work is inserted in a line of photography that seeks to build the image, does not capture with her camera what is in reality, but "invents" a new one; for this, she makes use of references of high culture or popular culture where citation is important and he can do it with painting, drawing, conceptual art diagrams, advertising, cinema; or even making reference to other photographs.

She is interested in exploring how her work can dialogue with a new geographical space in collaboration with diverse audiences; additionally, she has become increasingly interested in female themes and visually narrating stories of vulnerability, compassion, and empowerment.

Dulce Pinzón is particularly interested in issues of social justice and activations that generate positive repercussions at the collective conscious level and legislation. She has worked in campaigns for the struggle for labor rights in New York together with former attorney general Elliot Spitzer and from the United Nations in creating cultural products for the dissemination of information for the development and democratization of Spanish-speaking countries.
