Ekavy is a New York–based artist creating handwoven works that bring texture and warmth to a space. Using cotton rope, linen, jute, wool, and reclaimed fabric, she builds richly layered surfaces inspired by the forms and movement of nature. Some pieces are framed; others extend beyond the frame as sculptural wall works.

Each artwork is made by hand, with its own shape, rhythm, and mix of materials. Ekavy’s work has been presented at art fairs in New York, Miami, Amsterdam, and Dubai. She has also held solo exhibitions in New York and at the Ocean City Arts Center in New Jersey.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

I make woven artworks that bring the textures and rhythms of nature indoors. I’m drawn to the curve of a root, the layers in weathered stone, and the way water changes the shape of a surface over time.

I work with rope, linen, jute, wool, and reclaimed fabrics, letting their different textures guide each piece. I weave, layer, and shape them by hand until the work feels both organic and carefully held together. I want people to notice something new each time they look: a shift in texture, an unexpected edge, or the quiet movement of one line into another.
