Fernando Mazoco

I was born and raised in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and I'm a self-taught, first-generation artist in my lineage — the first in my family to pursue a creative path with no formal map to follow. From a very young age, I was drawn to observing and exploring the many facets of the world around me, a curiosity that would come to define both my life and my work.
That curiosity carried me across borders. Living in many different countries became essential to broadening my horizons, exposing me to new cultures, perspectives, and ways of seeing that continue to inform my practice today. I consider myself a rebel in the truest sense — someone willing to step outside the conventional norms of society in pursuit of something more authentic. Questioning the status quo isn't an occasional impulse for me; it's deeply rooted in who I am.
This restless, questioning spirit is the engine behind my art. I move freely between mediums, unafraid to experiment, unwilling to settle into a single comfortable style. My goal is simple and lifelong: to try something new every day, for the rest of my life.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

My work is driven by a desire to challenge the perception of separation — the social and existential boundaries that distance us from one another and from the greater universe. This calling to convey themes of unity and interconnectedness led me to create the series Transcendent Interconnectedness, in which I explore the invisible world of vibration as both subject and metaphor. Through this exploration, I seek to bridge the unseen energetic realm with the tangible physical world. In this series, I also engage with the use of light as a medium, weaving LED lights directly into the canvas.
