Flo Hodes brings to her textile art a lifetime of creation with fabrics and fiber. The current focus of her work began in 2023 with a months-long workshop on small block studies. Energized by the challenge of exploring the impact of colors, Flo has spent the past two years playing with fabric, color and an improvisational style.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

My work in textiles explores the expressive possibilities of fabric through an improvisational process of cutting, stitching and composition. I build abstract works that evolve intuitively, each piece guided by the interplay of color, rhythm, and texture. While I may start with an idea in mind, the work developed and changes as I go.
