Garineh Baghdasarian, artist name GKB Art, is an Armenian American artist. She started her art journey in Los Angeles, where she was born and raised. Her passion grew from taking classes, practicing on her own, creating her online platform to share her work, participating in showcases, and eventually starting to sell her original work. Since moving to Portland, she has participated in the art world through street markets and local galleries.
Her love for acrylic and oil painting has become a constant in her life since realizing that it was both a fun and therapeutic activity. Her process of creating art is exploring both the conscious and subconscious mind. The use of patterns and vibrant colors is found in a lot of her work. Her aim is to create original designs and symbolic imagery to give the viewer an experience of wonder and curiosity. Outside of her familiar creative space, Garineh also takes on projects to challenge herself and improve her skills, for example doing studies in portraiture and realism. Overall, she is excited about the direction she’s headed with her art and hopes to continue to strengthen her skills and share her work with the community.
