ARTIST’S STATEMENT
As an artist based in Chicago, my work is an exploration of identity, reflection, individuality and the constant journey of self-discovery & empowerment. Deeply inspired by the rich traditions of African and Polynesian cultures, my art is a celebration of heritage and personal narratives, woven together to create a unique tapestry of contemporary expression.
In my acrylic paintings symbolic motifs that pay homage to these ancient cultures while also reflecting the individuality of each subject. Every piece is a tribute to the intricate stories and timeless aesthetics that have been passed down through generations, reinterpreted through my personal lens.
My work as a tattoo artist allows me to take this exploration further, transforming the human body into a living canvas. Each tattoo is a deeply personal journey for both myself and the client, merging cultural significance with individual stories and experiences. It is this fusion of the collective and the personal that drives my artistic practice.
Through my art, I strive to bridge the gap between tradition and modernity, fostering an appreciation for cultural diversity and the beauty it brings to our world. My creations are not just visual expressions; they are dialogues that encourage self-reflection, pride, and a deeper understanding of our shared and unique identities.
I am dedicated to pushing the boundaries of my craft, continually exploring new techniques and mediums to enrich my storytelling. My goal is to inspire those who experience my work to embark on their own journeys of self-discovery, appreciating the intricate interplay between culture and individuality.
Art has the power to transform and inspire, and I am committed to using my talents to contribute to the cultural and personal tapestry of our society. Whether.
