Gwen Day, is born and raised in Alberta, since early childhood Gwen has been deeply connected to both an outdoor life and creating art.

Her work is known for it’s strong value contrasts and vibrant colours. Painting mostly western landscapes in impressionistic style. Gwen also loves to paint loose vibrant florals. She works in mixed media, acrylics and oils.

She is a juried in member of Federation of Canadian Artists. Her work has been collected by both individual and corporate clients nationally and internationally.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

My paintings are the products of many hours spent outdoors in wild and natural environments: hiking, kayaking, walking, observing, photographing, sketching and painting on location.

I passionately try to capture those magical moments on canvas that my outdoor adventures afford me, desiring to reflect our creators splendour that I see in nature.
