ARTIST’S STATEMENT
I tried to portray the private 'space' I've kept inside of me.
The anxiety and absence in a contemporary society coming from the inner dissatisfaction of the lack of an independent space that belongs to oneself, the time that had passed regardless of one's own will, and people's spirit that stopped its flow demands an emotional compensation.
I portrayed my inner yearning for owning a private space on the canvas using the unapproachable, unreachable, endless sky as a metaphor for a space of my own.
Through my painting, I wish to communicate how important the satisfaction a silent and limited, independent space offers is to people of contemporary society, both mentally and physically.
I hope you could capture my thoughts hidden in the breathtakingly beautiful light and the silent space.
I hope everyone visually observing the painting could sense the light in my work which replaces the silence and my passion.
