Janelle Schneider

I am a multidisciplinary visual artist, working in oils, acrylics 3D digital and physical material surface pattern design. Primarily a self-taught painter, I've worked with oils and acrylics for most of my life. I have long been interested in the state of liminality - the realm of spirit, dreams and possibility, and have explored this from many perspectives; from abstraction to a macro focus on ordinary intimate moments, to explorations painting the night sky and the space between reality and perception within dissonance. Some of my more recent creative explorations have been focused on tactility; fabric textiles, sewing and decorative pattern designs.
I hold a BFA in Graphic Design from Pacific Northwest College of Art and have maintained a dedicated studio practice alongside a 20 + year career as a digital artist; first in the Marin County San Francisco Bay Area and now in the Pacific Northwest.
My painting New Coat was featured in Studio Visit Magazine, Volume 52. I am also one of the contributing artists to The Science Tarot (2010), with fourteen original paintings for the Suit of Wands. In recent years, I've participated in Washington County Open Studios (2023 and 2024), continue to engage with the local arts community.
My work has been exhibited in galleries and art events throughout the Pacific Northwest, as well as in the San Francisco Bay and Santa Monica areas, and is held in private collections internationally.
