Jean-François Portelance

Jihef Photo is a small business founded and managed by Jean-François "Jihef" Portelance since 2005. After showing an interest in photography and acquiring his first camera at the age of 8, he decided to enroll in photography. He first took courses in visual and media arts at the Collège d'enseignement général et professionnel (CEGEP). After gaining an insight into photography, he decided to enroll at La Cité Collégiale d'Ottawa in 2003 in Photography Techniques. He graduated in 2006 and, since then, has explored photography by creating photos that reflect his creativity, while following in the footsteps of great names in "pop art" such as Guy Bourdin and David Lachapelle, whom he discovered and admired. In 2014, he decided to return to film set technology studies to deepen his knowledge. He enrolled at O'Sullivan College in Montreal and graduated in 2015.
