Joe Jamaldinian

Born in Amman, Jordan, to Armenian parents, Joe’s life reflects a profound journey of creativity, curiosity, and purpose. Growing up in a multilingual household, he developed his artistic talent early, earning recognition as “Best Artist” at just 10 years old while attending The Bishop’s School in Amman.

At 12, his family moved to Northern Virginia, where his art continued to flourish, even as his unconventional methods and preference for working privately often challenged his art teachers.

Joe’s insatiable curiosity has shaped his art in powerful ways. His fascination with great artists, thinkers, philosophy, religion, and mythology infuses his work with depth and meaning, pushing boundaries to create new forms of art that challenges the viewer's thoughts, perceptions and opens minds to new possibilities.
Over the past decade, his work in contemporary art—spanning photorealism, surrealism, and symbolism—has captivated collectors and inspired audiences to pause in awe, experiencing what James Joyce described as “aesthetic arrest.”

Beyond the canvas, Joe’s creativity shines as the author and illustrator of two award-winning children’s books, which he generously donates to underserved communities through partnerships with non-profits.

Through his curiosity and passion for art, Joe remains devoted to inspiring others, sparking imagination, and expanding new thoughts and ideas by pushing the boundaries of art and experience.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Art is the radiant expression of our consciousness. A truth that hides in plain sight, but when examined, unveils the essence of all things.

Art is the unspoken language that connects us to the mystery and energy of life. These are the quiet feelings we all carry with us and when sparked, they reveal a whole new world that reminds us of the excitement of being alive.

Joseph Campbell, a professor and scholar of religion and mythology stated, "The function of art is to reveal the radiance through the created object. When you see the beautiful organization of a fortunately composed work of art, you just say, 'Aha!', somehow it speaks to the order in your own life and leads to the realization of the very things that religions are concerned to render."

This is simply my goal as an artist. I want art to be the medium (the unspoken language) to connect myself and others to the mysteries and energies of the world. These are the moments when we feel connected to another person, to nature and to everything around us. Art is one of the disciplines that remind us of the spark that makes life interesting and worth living.
