John studied at the Art Institute of Seattle in the Visual Communications program, while there he was introduced to figurative expressionism and exploration of the use of colour to communicate meaning and value. With a visual communications degree, he has worked as a Graphic Designer while further defining his artistic style for over 20 years with various collectives and group shows throughout the Pacific Northwest.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Working in the 'all prima' style of rendering the subject in one session, moving quickly and efficiently then being
satisfied with the results. This applies from graphite drawings to more involved oversized oil paintings, the idea is that there is little editing while constructing of the art piece.
