I'm John Y Lynch, a visual artist from Toronto, Canada.
I was classically trained at Michael John Angel Studios and the Academy of Realist Art in Toronto.
I specialize in landscape, portrait and figurative subjects. I've used oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolour and various drawing media, but my medium of choice is oil paint.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
In my landscape work, I seek to transport the viewer to another place and time. To excite the imagination; to evoke memories and associations, and a love of fantasy and beauty. In my portrait work, I strive to capture the unique character of my subjects at a moment in time."
I Know what it's like to crave beauty in a world that seems dull, confusing or ugly. Beauty lets us pause and wonder at the miracle of being alive - transcending the ordinary with gratitude and joy, and an abiding sense of hope.
