Hi, I’m Jules, a Korean artist based in Vancouver, Canada.

I grew up in a small seaside town in Korea. The ocean was a place of comfort, but at times, it was also a strict teacher that kept me humble. Perhaps that’s why I eventually found myself settling in Vancouver, another city by the sea.

I’ve always been someone who holds on to the little things in life. The time spent with people, the emotions I felt along the way, and the memories and music that stay with me long after everything else has changed.

These are the things that inspire me to create art.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

I’ve always believed that love is what keeps life moving.

But love isn’t always beautiful. Sometimes it’s warm and comforting, and sometimes it hurts. Even the briefest moments can leave something behind, long after the people or places we once loved are gone.

I create art to hold on to those moments and the feelings that come with them. Some are happy, some are painful, and some I still don’t quite know how to put into words.

I hope that when you look at my work, you can feel love in its many forms, and perhaps find a little of your own story in it.
