My process begins with taking photographs of store windows. I see the surface of the glass with its simultaneous reflection of interior and exterior as a metaphor for the process of accepting and discarding information to fit a constructed perception of reality. The paintings are symbols of the familiarity and mystery of our consciousness. Drawing on things that we see but don’t realize we are seeing. The act of painting engages me in opening my state of being to allow the intuitive to take over, to be present in the moment, to capture an alignment of insights. My hope is to pass on the beauty of a chosen moment in time.
