Karley Welch

Karley Welch is a self-taught abstract artist based in Northern California. Her work is an exploration of emotion, memory, tension, grief, joy, and the constant process of becoming.
Karley paints intuitively, often beginning without a clear destination, and allows her work to develop organically. Her paintings are less about depicting a specific moment and more about capturing the feeling of one.
Karley’s work is heavily influenced by contradictions of being human: holding on while learning to let go, finding joy alongside grief, feeling overwhelmed and still moving forward. Motherhood, identity, transformation, and self-discovery frequently find their way into the work.
For Karley, painting is not only a creative process, but a way to express feelings that don’t always have words. Her work asks the viewer not necessarily to understand it, but to feel something in it.
