Kayla Goetz
Kayla is a Métis artist whose work combines her metis roots and Christian faith. She uses nature to explore the connection between Scripture and the the natural world. Her work is based off of the wisdom found in Psalm 19:1
"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard".
Kayla's work invites viewers to consider the depths of God's love and his story found in the simplicity of nature. She aims to produce pieces of art that are both meditative and thought-provoking.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
As a Métis artist, I paint to explore the connections between faith and the natural world. Animals hold an important place in Métis culture. I aim to build on this heritage and express the presence of God in his creation. I hope my work will inspire a sense of hope as we reflect on his word together.
