Kimberlie Miller

Kim Jones Miller is a self taught artist, relying on dreams and meditations for the vision of her work. She has lived in Minnesota and Arizona. Both of these environments inform her paintings, which are spiritual and symbolic in nature. Kim taught herself to use oil paints at fourteen and later added in watercolors and acrylics. She has exhibited at the Edina Art Show and the Powderhorn Art Show in Minneapolis, Mn. Both are juried art fairs. She has been represented by several galleries in Arizona and Minnesota including Feminine Mystique in Tubac, Az., Sundust Gallery in Mesa, Az., Krista Artista Gallery in Anoka, Mn., and currently by Xanadu Gallery in Scottsdale, Az. Kim maintains a studio at home and sells works online. She paints for the joy of it, believing that art is a form of visual healing.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
I dream a lot in vivid color and motion. These dreams often are giving me the ideas for my paintings. I think of my work as both narrative and symbolic, with spiritual and healing energies behind the symbology. Horses act as messengers in my art. They hold special spiritual meaning for me. Both my works on canvas and those on paper are done in mixed media techniques. The messages are often social, environmental, or political, meant to convey hope.
