Kristina Banden is a Vancouver-based Creative Director and Artist working under the artistic banner UNAPOLOGETIC.FCK. Her creative practice is informed by more than three decades of experience across creative direction, design, fashion, and visual storytelling, including the development of two women’s fashion lines. Her work explores identity, emotion, memory, vulnerability, and lived experience, transforming personal and observed moments into contemporary visual narratives. Over the past two years, her work has been presented in three solo exhibitions and one group exhibition in Europe, alongside earlier work presented through Vancouver Fashion Week and installations in commercial spaces.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

UNAPOLOGETIC.FCK is rooted in the freedom to create without seeking permission. The work begins with what is felt rather than what is expected. Through imagery, composition, and visual interpretation, it explores identity, emotion, memory, and lived experience.
The creative process begins with immersion and observation, allowing research, experience, atmosphere, and emotion to shape the work. Familiar subjects, places, and perspectives become raw material for interpretation and transformation, moving beyond documentation toward something more expressive and unexpected.
Each collection develops its own visual language and may move across different mediums, but the underlying intention remains the same: to create work that invites the viewer to pause, feel, question, and see something differently.
