Blending bold color, emotion, and light, Kurt is a multimedia artist whose work offers a contemporary interpretation of the impressionist, fauvist, and expressionist movements. With over a decade of experience in painting and photography, he brings vibrant energy to every piece. He grew up in San Diego and now lives and creates in Leesburg, Virginia since 2000.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

My work is a contemporary interpretation of the impressionist, fauvist, and expressionist movements to inspire my approach to capturing color, energy, emotion, movement, and atmosphere on canvas.

My current body of work explores the expressive potential of oil paint and the palette knife. Palette knives allow creative freedom to produce thick and thin textures, bold strokes, striking contrasts, and sharp edges. The result is a visceral, dimensional visual quality.

Through color, form and movement, my goal is to evoke both a sense of place and inner resonance.
