ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Nature holds many secrets, and my abstract art explores and celebrates our precious world. Using luminous, transparent colors, ethereal shapes, and bold or delicate lines, I layer acrylics, oil sticks, marker and pencil on canvas to subtly reveal hidden depths, accumulating sensations and experiences.
If my art can bring the viewer a moment of respite and joy, and a reminder to treasure the environment that nurtures us, then my love affair with paint and canvas has achieved its purpose.

A Leonard Cohen poem inspired the title for this painting. I often listen to his music when I paint, and feel moved by the lyrics, especially the ones about love. His emotions resonate with me, because my paintings come from my heart, although they often take many layers to reveal themselves, as this painting did.

Unveiling was inspired by the clouds that part to reveal the orange glow of a sunrise or sunset. This artwork would look great in a contemporary setting in a bedroom, dining room, over a mantel, or in an office. The turquoise gives a punch of color, yet still lends a calming vibe to any space.

Soft hues of magenta, green and a touch of lavender make this painting feel like a lullaby. It’s one of my rare paintings in oils, and the richness of the hues shines through. This original painting would be lovely in a bedroom, dining room, living room or even a baby’s room. It’s like a poem on canvas, ready to hang and warm up your home. A painting to be cherished.

On a summer day, when it was very hot, I gathered some flowers from my garden. My intention was to capture the essence of the flowers, the blowsy, blossomy petals in shades of pink, yellow and white. Laying paint to canvas helps me immortalize the feeling of glorious summer days, all year long.

Take Me With You, and keep me in your heart. Love is felt very deeply, and flowers are the perfect way to express your feelings when words are not enough. I felt a lot of joy when painting these flowers, with the deep burgundy next to the green-golds and pinks. The golden hues reflect a sunny autumn day.
