ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Artist Statement

Abstraction is at the heart of my practice. I use colour, texture, and movement to explore feelings that are not always easy to put into words. Working in acrylic, oil, and mixed media, I build layered surfaces where bold gestures meet quieter passages, allowing each painting to develop through intuition and thoughtful choices.

While my focus is abstract, I occasionally explore portraits, whimsical animals, and other imaginative subjects. These works offer another way to express emotion, personality, and humour while keeping my practice open to curiosity and experimentation.

I want my paintings to invite a personal response—a moment of reflection, a spark of recognition, or an unexpected smile. In commercial spaces, I hope my work brings character and connection, offering viewers something new to discover each time they encounter it.
